Fantastic image!  I saw the movie as a child and was greatly affected by the film.  I love the almost steampunk like victorian shape of the ship.  Very gothic!

Great job on the Cygnus.  I remember how excited I was when I first learned of Disney's "Black Hole" movie project... and how very, very disappointed I was in the movie.  It had some good ideas, but they were applied in the most ridiculous way imaginable.

NO IDEA what this is from. I STILL LOVE IT. Especially the thrusters. Exactly what I try to capture in my fanfiction! Mind if I use this?

From the (surprisingly) Disney movie "Black Hole". Really cool movie, if you don't mind a bit of late 70's special effects. :)

Oh I just mean some people are intolerable to special effects from the 70's. I don't care either way, I wasn't sure if you minded them. Sorry if I caused confusion Oops!

I mean, what difference does it make? How are 70s effects different?

I mean that some of it looks fake or has bad quality. Stuff like that. But it was what they had then.

Well, right. Lucas and his team did an amazing job on Star Wars then. So much that it was ground breaking for so many things like Battlestar Galactica or The Last Starfighter. I'm just saying that SOME movies/shows in the 70's had "interesting" special effects. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. (Though these movies all had some kick-ass stories to them!)
CURSE YOU! I am a dummy!

Of all sci-fi ships, this was one that looked like we could have built within my lifetime. It wasn't sleek with smooth surfaces and a snazzy paint job. It was simply raw and functional.

Also at first I thought the smaller ship was the Palomino, but looking closer I think it's a Gunstar from The Last Starfighter. Now who wouldn't like to see Maximillian slicing up Xur.

It's such an old movie you should be able to locate it somewhere on the web.  The special effects are a bit cheesy, Disney tried their best, but overall an interesting and entertaining movie...
