Note that the codes on (3) are definitely wrong. It's clearly marked as being flown by Wing Commander Douglas Bader (Both Wg Cdr pennant and code DB confirm this) but it has a cannon wing and rectangular oil cooler rather than the 8xBrowning 0.303" and round oil cooler of the Spitfire Va which was the latest Spitfire mark that Bader flew before he ws shot down.
That's verifiable historical fact, not a joke.

Well, in this case it helps that I first read "Reach for the Sky" (the first biography of Douglas Bader) when I was about 8, and have built models of several of the types he's flown.
