WOW!!!!! Okay, first, this is my absolute favourite version of the Constitution Class. Second, this is without QUESTION: the best action shot I've ever seen outside of the Trek movies. Best one so far? Best one EVER!
You've go the fire, the motion blur, the clouds and the ship, all looking REALLY realistic - fabulous work on all that!
The only thing I would suggest, is to make the wind-sheer around the nose a bit 'taller' - despite the saucer section being a disc, the wind-sheer would still go up and over in a bit more of an oval shape - especially since there's a raise toward the center of the saucer, the atmosphere is directed upward a bit more. (I hope that makes sense!)
well it makes sense but the reason why i made it like this is because the ship is very "low" so from what i saw in few videos with shuttles, when is closer to the atmosphere the wind-shear is not that intense thats why
It may be low, but its not the atmosphere density really that would form that, its the contour of the object - as the ship is quite a bit thicker toward the center, the wind sheer would be more fanned out in the vertical plane...
TreeClimber is right except for one thing: there would be multiple vectors rather than the one. The taller ones would be a little further back than the initial one. Also there would be turbulence effects where the different vectors intersect, because the shape is not really all that aerodynamic.
I think this is really nice work. I love the lighting and all the details. The atmospheric, shield and burn effects are also what I would expect to see in such a situation. Really well done. A startship within an atmosphere is difficult at the best of times and I think you nailed it.
