Excellently done! For those who are guessing "Spit" or "Tiffy" (Typhoon), it's actually a later model Hawker Tempest Mk. V, basically a fighter evolution from Hawker that's between the Typhoon and the Sea Fury.
By the preview, I initially thought this was something out of Operation Bodenplatte, the Luftwaffe's New Year's Day attempt to cripple Allied air power. Although I'm sure the RAF had a few missions scheduled that day despite the nasty hangovers some of their pilots had from the night before.
Excellent pic this time around, nonetheless. I love the added touches with both the mist and the exhaust. It's gotta be FREEZING for that pilot as he's getting ready to take off...
That's alright - I mistook it for a Typhoon at first, too, but then I saw it had the short-stubbed guns of the Mk.V series 1 Tempest, as well as the dorsal fin and squared-off wingtips characteristic for the Tempest Mk.V.
